Dr. Michael Yesenofski grew up in the friendly Western suburbs of Portland, Oregon. He attended Jesuit High School and the University of Portland, where he received his B.S. Degree, majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry. His interest in dentistry began in high school, grew in college, and eventually led him to Omaha, Nebraska.

Dr. Yesenofski, or Dr. Mike as he likes to be called, received his D.D.S. from Creighton University in Omaha in 2003. Although he enjoyed his time in the Midwest and received a first rate education there, he always knew that he would return to Oregon. Dr. Mike enjoys educating his patients on their oral health and treatment options, as well as working with them to overcome any dental anxiety they might have. According to Dr. Mike, "Trust is the most important ingredient in the doctor-patient relationship, and it is a very rewarding feeling when the once nervous patient trusts you enough to fall asleep in your chair during a procedure."

Dr. Mike continues to stay updated on recent research and changes in the field of dentistry through continuing education courses, and has received advanced training in the areas of implants, esthetic management, occlusion, and Invisalign treatment, just to name a few.

Dr. Mike enjoys writing and playing music, fishing, and traveling. He has traveled to Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean, and he looks forward to visiting other parts of the world.

HOW DO YOU BEST EDUCATE PATIENTS?
We use one-on-one patient education including intra-oral cameras, full screen digital X-rays, smile simulators and our portfolio of before-and-after photography to help the patient choose their new smile. We also use social media, such as Facebook and Twitter, for educational purposes.

HOW DO YOU CALM ANXIOUS PATIENTS?
Most of our patients start out thinking they are more anxious than they really are. Our goal is to change their mindset by replacing previous, negative dental experiences with new positive ones. We offer conscious oral sedation and provide a menu of options to each patient to help calm them during the procedure.

HOW DOES YOUR STAFF CONTRIBUTE TO A MORE PLEASANT PATIENT EXPERIENCE?
We all share a common internal core value: to do our very best and create the most pleasant dental experience possible for each and every patient.

WHAT DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS DO YOU AND YOUR PRACTICE OFFER?
Each patient is treated in a private suite that is equipped with overhead flatscreen TVs with headphones, luxurious chairs with built-in massagers, digital radiography to dramatically reduce radiation exposure, warm spa towels as well as comforting patient blankets

WHAT ATTRACTED YOU TO COSMETIC DENTISTRY?
I have always been an artist. What better canvas than a human being? It doesn’t matter who you are or what you look like—a great smile can make you more beautiful.

WHAT NEW PROJECT ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT?
I’m excited to be launching a new toothbrush, the Diamond Elite Ultrasonic. It’s powerful, with 30,000 brush strokes per minute, but it also has an auto timer to prevent you from over brushing. Also unique is the ultraviolet sanitizer it comes with that keeps the brush heads clean. On top of all
that, it’s waterproof, ergonomic and easy to use.

WHAT HEALTH AND BEAUTY TIP CAN YOU PROVIDE?
Remove soft drinks from your diet. The acidity level of most soda pop is close to battery acid and destroys teeth. If you must drink soda pop, then drink it fast and then rinse with water right away.

DO YOU PERFORM ANY PRO-BONO WORK?
I recently returned from Brazil, where our team of 10 volunteers performed 500 dental procedures in four days. We are already planning our next trip back to the village. We have also begun a nonprofit organization, “Bling For Life,” to raise money to prevent teenage suicide.

TMG Oscar Suite Interview: Troy Lakey

Most of us do not get the opportunity to go to the Oscars, and even fewer opportunities to meet the celebrities that are in the for the event weekend.  As sometimes we live vicariously through others, I took the opportunity to interview Bling Dental Products Operations Manager, Troy Lakey.

SF: Troy, who was the most exciting celebrity you met this weekend during the Oscar festivities?

TL: Deidre Hall from Days of Our Lives, Amber Benson and Wes Ramsey from one of my favorite movies - Latter Days, and several teen stars from my son's favorite shows - especially Boo Boo Stewart who plays Seth in Twilight.

 

SF: What surprised you the most about the weekend?

TL: It was fun to meet a lot of teen stars that I see on the shows my sons watch all the time - Shake It Up, So Random, Good Luck Charlie, Bucket and Skinner, Phineas and Ferb, and others.
Also staying at the hotel where Whitney Houston died - I saw the memorial that people had created outside the hotel - very sad.

 

SF: Who was your favorite other products/companies that you shared this event with?

TL:  Surface Hair products - they were very nice and asked me to use their products and let them do my hair one morning. They asked if I would be a hair model for them when them come to the NW. I also really like the Pandora jewelry.

 

SF: What was the best moment of the weekend?

TL: Deidre Hall asking if I watched her show, and then if I wanted to take a picture with her. Also sharing with Wes Ramsey and Amber Benson how much their work on Latter Days meant to me.

Finally, watching people react to our Blinged Out Diamond with the Swarovski Crystals - it definitely caught their eyes and was a great point of discussion.

Aaron Socha joined the Bling Team this past year.  There were so few of our group there I wanted to interview each of them to see how the weekend impressed, awed or just made them smile. 

SF: Aaron, who was the most exciting celebrity you met this weekend during the Oscar festivities?

AS: I was excited to see John Schneider from The Dukes of Hazzard! Funny, I know, but my brothers and I all watched it when we were kids. (Photo at right is Dr. Raymond with John & Elly Schneider.)

 

SF: What surprised you the most about the weekend?

AS: The vast majority of celebrities we met were kind, very thankful for the product and happy to speak with us.

 

SF: Who was your favorite other products/companies that you shared this event with?

SF: What was the moment you'll share the most about the weekend?

Dr. Bling Was Part of the 2012 Academy Awards Gifting Suite

Bling Dental was happy to be a part of the dazzling festivities with the Diamond Elite Ultrasonic Toothbrush and Icing Teeth Whitening System to give these celebs the brightest smile ever.  Dr. Raymond, aka Dr. Bling, was grinning pretty big this weekend, as well!

Bling Dental was included with Max Marana luggage, Lumeria Maui, My Pillow, Excess Baggage.  Dr. Renaud completed the personal services with his skincare products and facial treatments.

The Beverly Hilton served as the Bling Dental Headquarters this weekend. "It was exhausting and exciting at the same time with all of the improptu interviews and guests. "

Some of the highlights included spending time with Diedre Hall, aka, Dr. Marlena from "Days of Our Lives."

Dr. Bling's Top 10 Pearls of Wisdom When Whitening Your Teeth

1. Whitening toothpastes are designed to be abrasive and remove the top layer of enamel. They only remove stains on the outside of the tooth. Frequent use of whitening toothpaste may result in teeth becoming sensitive to hot and cold. 
2. Effective whitening gels contain either hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide. I recommend carbamide peroxide because the results last longer. It is also less dehydrating to the teeth and can actually help prevent decay. My own whitening gel formula, Icing 30-Carat*, contains carbamide peroxide and a special desensitizing agent, potassium nitrate. 
3. Avoid whitening with lasers, high-intensity lights or heat. You will get the same results with other methods and avoid dehydration of the tooth and increased sensitivity. Whitening gel can be stored in refrigerator and can stay effective for up to two years. 
4. When whitening, a custom fitted tray is superior to one-size-fits-all tray systems. Make sure the tray is scalloped along your gumline and not covering up your gums. This will prevent the uncomfortable burning sensation caused by the peroxide. To prevent the possibility of the burning sensation, always immediately remove any excess gel that oozes out of tray. 
5. Teeth whitening with appropriate methods does not damage enamel. Most sensitivity experienced when whitening teeth is caused by dehydration of the tooth. The peroxide gel dehydrates teeth just like peroxide-containing hair products dry out hair. In addition, the whitening tray covers the teeth and prevents saliva from keeping the teeth hydrated. I recommend wearing whitening trays no longer than 90 minutes. The majority of the active ingredient has been exhausted by this point, and wearing trays longer just makes teeth more sensitive. Never wear trays overnight. Drinking plenty of water after whitening also helps rehydrate your teeth. 
6. Following teeth whitening, avoid coffee, berries, red wine, curry, smoking and other teeth-staining items. Teeth are more porous for the first 24 hours after whitening and will easily stain from these food products. Drink beverages that stain teeth, such as coffee and cola, through a straw to help teeth stay white longer. If you forget and turn your teeth pink from a glass of red wine, simply re-whiten teeth for another 30 to 60 minutes.
7. Don't whiten top teeth and bottom teeth at the same time. This helps you see how well the whitening system is working. Whitening the teeth in sections also reduces any sensitivity you might experience.
8. You may whiten your teeth as often as needed as long as you are not experiencing any pain or sensitivity. If teeth are getting sensitive, it is a warning sign from the fragile nerves inside the teeth that they need a break. 
9. Porcelain crowns and tooth colored fillings will not whiten. If possible, consider whitening teeth before having any visible tooth colored dental work completed.
10. Thicker enamel whitens more than thin enamel. Enamel is thinnest along the gumline and can look more yellow than the rest of the tooth. Bottom teeth have thinner enamel than top teeth and might not get as white. MS&F

Former American Idol Finalist Kimberly Caldwell to Host and Perform at 7th Annual Brat Pack Weekend

Three Day exclusive event to take place August 5-7th at the Seascape Beach Resort and the Cocoanut Grove Ballroom in Santa Cruz, CA

July 11, 2010 - Vanguard / Capitol Recording Artist, Kimberly Caldwell will once again host and perform at the annual Brat Pack Weekend on August 5-7th in Santa Cruz, CA. Caldwell has been involved with the 80’s themed Northern California event since 2006.

Founded by Caldwell’s manager, Anthony Cordova, a Santa Cruz area native who, every year since 2005 has brought the music, movies and memories of the 1980’s to his high school alumni, friends and business associates.

The Brat Pack Weekend is always ‘80s themed and is centralized around a certain film or icon of the era. This year the theme is ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’ based on the 1986 film starring MatthewBroderick.

What started with a dozen or so friends after Cordova’s 20 year high school reunion has now turned into an event with purpose. This year’s event takes place August 5-7th at the beautiful Seascape Beach Resort in Aptos and the historic Cocoanut Grove Ballroom at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. The invitation only get-together will treat 300 lucky guests to a trip down memory lane. Friday night’s festivities include a “Margaritaville” themed beach bonfire. On Saturday night, the historic Cocoanut Grove Grand Ballroom will be transformed into a Hollywood style nightclub replete with a classic video game arcade, red carpet entrance, palm readers, magicians, psychics, caricature artists, VIP gift bags (including an ’80s CD compilation), dancing and karaoke. Sunday is a wine tour through the Santa Cruz Mountains on luxury tour buses.
